Opinions on paying off mortgage needed
Permalink

I'm thinking about taking 50k in cash and selling 290k shares from a taxable holding with a higher value. This will cover the payment of the remaining 250 thousand mortgages and repay the debt in the amount of 40 thousand in the form of capital gains taxes. Would you pay off this mortgage in this way, in some other way, or would you not pay it off at all?
Thanks.

Have you tried searching for some professional advice?

Wow, those are quite some numbers. I've been dealing with mortgage issues for a while as well, but not nearly close to what you are dealing with. I would most probably try and find a financial advisor or mortgage expert to help me distribute my finances in a smarter way. I did stumble upon Mortgage Advice York, and I must admit, they've been extremely helpful and came up with great advice to help me manage my finances and deal with my mortgage in a more efficient and smarter way. I'm sure you have access to plenty of possibilities and options, so try and find some professional advice on dealing with your mortgage and managing your finances properly.
