LED strip lights for bowl turning
Permalink

I saw a video where an LED strip was attached to the banjo to light up the inside of the bowl, so I decided to give it a try.
I bought a 12-volt LED strip and a power supply from LED Supply. Strip lights can be cut to size.
I cut mine down to about 12 inches. The strips are supplied with an adhesive tape on the reverse side. I glued the strip to a piece of sheet metal. Then I attached the magnets with epoxy resin to the sheet metal. I tried to do it without the epoxy, but my magnets stayed on the banjo.
Any light I've used before has interfered or cast shadows.

Inventive. Directs the light exactly where you need it, and no shadows.

Very helpful tip! Sadly, my LED setup does not allow for such manipulations. But I will try to adapt it! I will either buy a new LED light for bowl turning or try to do something similar to mine. I might buy a new one because the driver for these LED lights doesn’t really fit the light itself. I heard that it can cause some issues with the lights. I never experienced any, but looking around for a new one here https://www.ukled.co.uk/led-drivers.html made me realize that buying a new LED setup altogether would be much better financially. I got the current setup from AliExpress and have regretted that ever since.
