I was wondering if if any of you are gun owners.  I am a new gun owner for protection not for hunting.

No, but I've considered it for protection. I used to run in the middle of nowhere and thought it might make me feel safer. But I'm assuming it would be cumbersome to tote while running...so I've stuck with pepper spray for now. Though I'm thinking it would be ineffective due to the difficulty in grabbing it instantly. :/ I'm doing treadmill work right now so it doesn't matter. As for home protection, I don't really live in a place that makes me feel unsafe, so I'm not compelled to go get one.

I prefer not to keep self-defense items that may inflict lethal damage. However, I do enjoy shooting guns. Just not at people or animals. No, I do not have a gun.

I do not own a gun. Never even considered the possibility. Do not support weapon industry.

Our state recently passed a conceal and carry law. If I could find a gun light enough to run with, but still powerful enough to deter someone from hurting me....I'd consider getting one at this point. I think I'd still be a bit worried about it inside my home though. Like if someone knew I had it, would it tempt them to break in and steal it? And then use it in a crime? Or would knowing I had it act as a deterence? I honestly don't know.

I did just purchase a pistol. In two weeks I am attending a class to I may obtain my CCW. I have mine in a safe. And I will NOT pass judgement on anyone that chooses to own or NOT to own a gun. That is a personal choice. I know that in MY life, its a fit.

I think I'd have to agree. I'd rather not support the industry either.

I don't own a gun, but I have considered getting and airsoft gun for protection. They can look like real guns, but shoot plastic projectiles instead of bullets. So it may be enough to scare someone off and it would still hurt if you were shot, but it isn't enough to kill someone.

We do have weapons in the house, but we also have very large constrictor snakes, which we found out when someone did try to break into the house, work just as well.

^ Haha.

We have guns - my father hunts (we actually use the meat and everything, responsible) - but even me and my sister had BB guns when we were younger. We never shot at any living thing - plus we were told whatever we shot we had to eat.

I have shot at targets before (gun - clay pigeons/discs) and have used a bow and arrow (a kids one but still) and shot at targets.

I think at least one if not both of my parents have the conceal and carry.

Im totally support the second amendment. However if someone chooses not to support the gun industry that is perfectly fine as well. More guns for me. Lol.

I can't own gun because I live in France, but I definitively would not own one if I could...

Though, I love shooting on targets for fun, at shooting stands in fairs for example.

American gun owners have a crazy reputation in Europe and the NRA is a real blight on America's image for most occidental foreigners ...

Hey Folks,

Felt the need to chime in on this one:)

Let me start out by saying that I have been a vegetarian since my 18th birthday which was also the same day I became a gun owner. I am not a hunter and have never been one. I believe that hunting was a necessary part of life for thousands of years but that time has far since passed. I understand the strong correlation between gun ownership and animal abuse, but this is not cause and effect. When somebody makes the decision to become a gun owner they have a choice.. what type of gun owner they will be...Responsible/irresponsible, Moral/Immoral. I would trade the factory farm system for avid responsible hunting as America's meat supply in a heartbeat. Most hunters I have met have more of a reverence for animals and the environment then any soccer mom or business man that I have met ..stuffing a cheese burger in their face while driving their SUV down the road. I am not advocating hunting by any means, especialy right now, I am just saying that I think we need to focus our attention on the gross violators. I struggle to understand the difference between someone who buys a cheeseburger and someone who pulls the trigger themselves... actually I respect the hunter more... at least they know they have blood on their hands. Personally my guns are for black helicopters and zombies ... but that's a different story :)

Wasabi

P.S. I think if we can just get people to understand how much enviromental damage and pain the meat industry causes.. they will ultimately start making the right decisions. I think people inherently want to do the right thing. Lets help them out!

Love you folks!

I am not a big fan and handler of guns but I do think that I should learn how to fire at least just for self defense or maybe for sports.

Best phd thesis

Ammo comes from a French word, "la ammo" which depicted any conflict related arms. Today, referred to informally as "ammunition", it tends to be terminated from a scope of guns by both military staff and regular folks. There has been a hybrid between Buy Glock 22 online the two spaces since surplus military rifles and ammo have been made accessible to the regular citizen area.
