PETA & Twiggy...

See A few of our members support PETA. I used to support PETA,but disgusted by the way they allow so many 'celebrities' to cherrypick whichever Animal Welfare issue it suits them for their own self-publicity feelgood factor. The most blatant example of this is PETA getting Twiggy to endorse Animal Welfare issues. Yes,this is the same Twiggy who is paid by Procter & Gamble to promote their 'Herbal Essences' brand. (A product which has been quite blatantly tested on Animals by P&G) I contacted PETA re this, they replied that they allowed 'celebrities' to "promote whichever animal welfare issues they felt comfortable with" I'm sure Twiggy felt very "comfortable" with the large sums of money she was paid by P&G,unlike the poor creature who died an agonising death in P&G's cosmetic testing lab.Maybe any PETA  supporters reading this could contact them & ask for a better explaination than the one I was given?

This is a very valid point malpaso, so many of the big animal welfare organisations are corrupt. That's why (on the favourite organisations post) a lot of us have expressed love for the smaller organisations, supporting them as we can see the benefits etc. :)

I truly believe that PETA, the HSUS, and other large animal welfare organizations are merely adding to the issues.

Me too. Which is sad, because initially, they must have started out like our local charities...

I guess they're just like bands. Take My Chemical Romance for example, most of their old stuff is amaaaazing, then it gets to Black Parade... Eww.

Fame gets to them!

I'm not a big fan of peta, but a lot of the information they have on their website is useful.

Yes,PETA do a lot of good regarding Animal Welfare & promoting sustainable (Vegan) lifestyle. However I do disagree with PETA regarding their methods. I feel ANY type of welfare campaign loses credibility, when fronted by anyone whose principals are so obviously for sale to the highest bidder!!!

They should just stick with the reliable information they give rather than trying to convert others to veganism because using naked women is not going to do it.

Be who you are and say what you mean, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind. I give you a little suggestion krunker
