Hello from Houston.  I'm surrounded by brisket and barbeque.

Being veg means mostly eating at home.

There are some great veggie spots in Houston! I've been a happy vegetarian in Houston for over seven years. Let me know if you want some suggestions. There are some real gems around town!

Being from Texas I'm sure you've heard of the mad cowboy. www.madcowboy.com If a rancher can be against eating meat anyone can! I live in Illinois and live in a farming community. Lots of cattle and pigs here too. As a matter of fact we live on 15 acres and our fence line borders a field where cattle graze. I always feel bad when I go up and give them treats knowing what there fate is. I wish I could just steal just one to save it.

Hello!
I was born and raised in Texas. I no longer live there but I understand being around lots of meat. I mean that is what I was raised with.
So it took me around two years to decide to become a vegetarian.

Another vegetarian here from Corpus Christi. I know how you feel, nothing but brisket and barbeque here as well. I hate it sometimes when we drive past restaurants and there's this smell of burning flesh in the air bleh

well, that's how I smell it anyway.

Hi fellow Texans! I'm from a small town in West Texas, so I understand what you all are saying about "brisket and barbeque" everywhere. Oh well...it's usually cheaper to eat at home anyway.

Holy crap! I know what you mean! From where I'm at, in Houston, Texas, there's way too much steakhouse and fast food restaurants. Doesn't surprise me as to why there's so many people who are unhealthy.
